The genealogy, age, and death of the patriarchs from Adam unto Noah.
Genesis 5:1 This is the boke of the generacion of man. In the daye when God created man & made hym after the similitude of God. Genesis 5:2 Male & female made he them, & called their names man, in the day when they were created.
Genesis 5:3 And when Adam was an hundred & thyrty yere olde, he begat a sonne after hys sycknesse and similitude: & called his name Seth. Genesis 5:4 And the dayes of Adam after he begat Seth, were eyght hundred yere, and begat sonnes & daughters. Genesis 5:5 And al the dayes of Adam which he lyued, were .ix. hundred & .xxx. yere, and then he dyed. Genesis 5:6 And Seth lyued an hundred & .v. yeres, & begat Enos. Genesis 5:7 And after he had begat Enos he liued .viij. hundred & .vij. yere, & begat sonnes & daughters. Genesis 5:8 And all þe dayes of Seth were .ix. hundred & .xij. yere, and dyed.
Genesis 5:9 And Enos lyued .lxxx. yere, & begat Kenan. Genesis 5:10 And Enos after he begat Kenan, liued .viij. hundred & .xv. yere, and begat sonnes & daughters: Genesis 5:11 & al the dayes of Enos were .ix. hundred & .v. yere, & than he dyed.
Genesis 5:12 And Kenan lyued .lxx. yere, & begat Mahalaliel. Genesis 5:13 And Kenan after he had begat Mahalaliel, lyued .viij. hundred and .xl. yere, & begat sonnes and daughters: Genesis 5:14 & al the dayes of Kenan were .ix. hundred & .x. yere, and than he dyed.
Genesis 5:15 And Mahalaliel liued .lxv. yere, Genesis 5:16 & begat Iared. And Mahalaliel after he had begat Iared lyued .viij. hundred & .xxx. yeres, & begat sonnes and daughters: Genesis 5:17 and al the dayes of Mahalaliel were .viij. hundred nynetye and .v. yere, and than he dyed.
Genesis 5:18 And Iared liued an hundred & .lxij. yere, & begat Henoch: Genesis 5:19 & Iared lyued after he begat Henoch .viij. hundred yere, & begat sonnes & daughters. Genesis 5:20 And all the dayes of Iared were .ix. hundred & .lxij. yere, and than he dyed.
Genesis 5:21 And Henoch lyued .lxv. yere, & begat Mathusala. Genesis 5:22 And Henoch walked wyth God after he had begat Mathusala .iij. hundred yere, & begat sonnes & daughters, Genesis 5:23 And al the dayes of Henoch were .iij. hundred & .lxv. yere,
The godliness and translation of Enoch.
Genesis 5:24 & than Henoch liued a godly lyfe, and was no more sene, for God toke hym awaye. Genesis 5:25 And Mathusala lyued an hundred and .lxxxvij. yere & begat Lamech: Genesis 5:26 & Mathusala after he had begat Lamech, lyued .vij. hundred & .lxxxij. yere, & begat sonnes and daughters. Genesis 5:27 And all the dayes of Mathusala were .ix. hundred .lxix. yere, and than he dyed.
Genesis 5:28 And Lamech lyued an hundred .lxxxij. yere & begat a sonne, Genesis 5:29 & called hym Noe, sayinge: Thys same shal comforte vs: as concerning our worke & sorowe of oure handes whyche we haue about the erth that the Lorde hath curssed: Genesis 5:30 and Lamech liued after he had begat Noe .v. hundred, nynetye & .v. yere, and begat sonnes & daughters. Genesis 5:31 And al the dayes of Lamech were .vij. hundred .lxxvij. yere, & than he dyed. Genesis 5:32 And when Noe was fyue hundred yere old, he begat Sem, Ham, & Iapheth.
